The term ‘March Madness’ was first used in reference to basketball by an Illinois high school official, Henry V. Porter, in 1939. March Madness wouldn’t become associated with the NCAA tournament until Brent Musberger used it during coverage of the 1982 tournament.

The expression March madness, which may be a shortening of the aphorism, emerged shortly thereafter in the early 1600s. In an 1872 magazine Odd and Ends, the writer notes “How is a hare madder in March than at any other time? or how is its March madness displayed?”

Lewis Carroll nods to this bunny cliché with his characters the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, both of whom appear in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Wow Spring is here.  What does Spring mean to you?I think of Springtime as a time of renewal, green hillsides, wildflowers and the cheerful sounds of baby birds in their nests

Spring is a good time to re-evaluate any goals you set for this year – Are you on Track?

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise.  When you walk on a hard surface like a sidewalk or road the impact helps build bone density. Walking is good for the mind, body and spirit.  Invite a friend to join you . There is an abundance of good places to walk in Nevada.

Remember too much sitting is not good for anyone, inactivity can affect your heart.  If you have heard sitting is the new smoking you are already aware that being sedentary has been associated with a higher risk of premature death.

Have you thought of getting a 4 legged friend?  Dogs are good company, they give many people a sense of purpose as a dog needs to be fed, played with and walked.  Are you at a loss for what time of breed is right for you. A good place to look is online at the human society/shelters. There are so many dogs just looking for a good forever home.  Things to consider before choosing a dog.
